WESTBORO BRANCH 480 remains committed to Supporting Our Veterans, Supporting Our Troops and Supporting Our Communities.

The mission of The Royal Canadian Legion is "to serve Veterans and their dependants, to promote Remembrance, and to act in the service of Canada and its communities". In essence, the purposes and objects of the Legion were born of the need to further the spirit of comradeship and mutual assistance among all who have served and never to forget the deeds of the fallen.

Since the Legion's creation in 1926 it has secured adequate pensions and benefits for Veterans and their dependents with direct contact with the Canadian Federal Government.

Poppy funds are collected annually which are used to assist Veterans, ex-service members and their families who are in need.

The Legion supports various senior programs, community, housing, long-term care, youth, education, sports, cadets, scouts and guides.

Major responsibility of promoting Remembrance through the annual Poppy campaign reminding all Canadians of the 117,000 men and women who gave their lives in missions all around the world.
